Bishop Obinim launches career in new movie

Ghanaian cleric, Bishop Dr Daniel Obinim of the International God’s Way Church has officially launched his movie career in the Twi-speaking movie industry with a debut movie ‘Obofuor Wo Krom’

Interestingly, ‘Obofuor Wo Krom’ which translates to mean “an angel is in town” is somehow related to the pastor who claims to be one of these mystical creatures and encourages his congregation to refer to him as “Angel Obinim”.

In a widely circulated promotional image of the movie on social media, the controversial Bishop is seen praying for actor, Bishop Bernard Nyarko who is seen kneeling.

Speaking to an Accra-based Radio station, Citi Fm, the producer and director of the movie, Blessed Adjei explained that the movie was a Biopic of someone’s life or a narration of a true life story. The synopsis of the movie talks about a Ghanaian man who lives abroad and had a serious problem which was later solved through the intervention of Bishop Obinim.

"His story was so touching that I decided to use it for a movie,” he said

According to the producer, Bishop Obinim proved to be a superb talent who immersed himself fully in the role and executed the script to the max. He also pointed out that Bishop Obinim was ‘awesome’ in the movie even though he did not reveal the role he played in the movie.

“He found the role very simple. His facial expressions, continuity and everything were on point. He remembered his lines without missing a word. I will give him ‘excellent’,” he added

‘Obofuor Wo Krom is expected to be out in the Ghanaian market by mid-June. Other Kumawood stars in the movie include Kwaku Arhin aka Abrobe, Benedicta Gafah and Blessed Adjei himself. ‘Obinim Wo Krom’ is a Dandy Films project and directed by Blessed Adjei.
