We have not parted ways – Management debunks rumours

News of Ofori Amponsah and his management going their separate ways hit Ghana’s showbiz industry with many wondering what could have merited such a decision.

Highlife artiste, Ofori Amponsah

But according to Frank Agyekum of Blaq Standard Entertainment, they are still working with Ofori Amponsah.

Speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, Monday, he intimated that they have not had a statement from the artiste declaring that he has ended their working relationship.

“Management has no issue with Ofori. We are not fighting. Ofori wants us to do something for him, we came out with ways of executing it and asked that we give it a thought. We are still thinking about it. Before the announcement of his comeback, we planned. We are guided by those strategies and that doesn’t mean we are not working anymore. If you have not been hearing from us, it means we are preparing to come out with something,” Frank Agyekum noted.

Ofori Amponsah who had wowed Ghanaians with his love songs declared in 2012 that he had received a ‘divine call’ to become a pastor.

Without any ambiguity, he stated that he had parted ways with secular music and would be singing about the love of Christ in order to win souls.

He however released a love song, undefined, cementing suspicions of his comeback. Before the release of Alewa, Frank Agyekum had stated on several media platforms that the artiste was back to highlife to sing songs that will "heal the broken-hearted".

The explanation was met with mixed reactions from music lovers and entertainment pundits. While some agreed with him, others thought it amounted to double standards.

Ofori Amponsah has since performed Alewa at a number of events.
