Founder of the Last Two Music Group, Edward Nana Poku, popularly known as Hammer has said he does not work with artistes for long because he gets bored doing so.

“We never keep artistes for too long because we get bored. When you become a star, it’s not appealing anymore. The Challenge that we have there is to push you from nowhere to the top. When you get to the top, then you pass,” he said in an interview on Pluzz FM’s AM Pluzz on Thursday.

Hammer who is known for grooming Obrafour, Kwaw Kese, Tinny, Sarkodie, Edem and many others stated that the label would want artistes it has groomed proceed to expand their respective brands.

“We have a stake in it [the artiste’s being] but we believe that everyman would want to eventually run his affairs. When you come into my world, you run affairs according to my way and I can’t do that forever. Eventually, you would want to express yourself, your business, strategy, brand like you want it so I just give you the push,” Hammer noted.

“Basically, I have become a magnet for artistes who really want to express themselves. So after my past, these guys realised at some point in time that they can express themselves if they come to me. I create the environment. I’m not about beats alone. The beats are just something I can do. My real talent comes from pushing artistes to the level where they can really express what they are feeling. So it’s more of grooming and artistes development,” he said.
