The father of multiple award-winning songstress, Rihanna is in trouble for trying to play smart on her daughter.

Rihanna sues father for cashing in on her fame

Ronald Fenty, the father of the 30-year-old singer, has been allegedly slapped with a lawsuit by her own daughter for allegedly exploiting her name in an effort “to solicit millions of dollars from unsuspecting third parties.”

In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, which was filed Tuesday, January 15, in a California federal court, the “Umbrella” singer claims that her father started a talent development company in 2017 called Fenty Entertainment to cash in on her Fenty trademarks.

Rihanna, however, has already trademarked “Fenty” for use in her business ventures, including her Fenty Beauty line.

The report said Rihanna claims her father and his business partner, Moses Joktan Perkins, falsely advertised themselves as her reps and tried to book her for 15 shows in Latin America in December 2017 for $15 million without her consent.

Additionally, Rihanna says that her father tried unsuccessfully to file a trademark for “Fenty” to use in connection with resort boutique hotels.

She has sent multiple cease and desist letters to her father, but he has ignored them and continues to profit off Fenty Entertainment.

She is now seeking damages and has asked a judge to place an injunction on her father for using the name Fenty.
