Sandra Bullock adopts daughter, Laila

Sandra Bullock has confirmed she has adopted her second child -  a three and a half year old girl she named Laila.

The 51-year-old tells People magazine her second child is a native from Louisiana, whom she previously fostered. Laila is now the younger sister to her five-year-old son, Louis who she adopted in 2010 from New Orleans.

"When I look at Laila, there's no doubt in my mind that she was supposed to be here," Bullock told the publication, which comes out on Frida, December 4.

"I can tell you absolutely, the exact right children came to me at the exact right time. Louis spearheaded this whole journey. I knew she was scared, and all I wanted was for her to know Louis and I weren't going anywhere," she continued.

The 'Gravity' star admitted that the process felt very much like witness protection, fearing that the adoption would be jeopardized by the fact that she's a huge star.

Back in October, we reported that there were rumors of the actress becoming a mother again but she debunked all speculations telling The Associated Press:

"There's only one adopted child in my household and his name is Louis. If I had a second adopted child, everyone would be hearing about it. I would be loud and clear. And say, 'Yes, I have officially adopted a second child.' Right now, Louis must be it."

A glimpse into her 'family album' and a rare look at her personal life will appear in the next issue of PEOPLE.
