“I will still be making films, but not as an actor because I am representing people’s interest. I have to be very careful about what I do now,” he said.
Nollywood actor, Desmond Elliot, who won the recently held House of Assembly election has stated that he will still be in the movie industry but not as an actor.
According to him, now that he is representing people’s interest, he need to be careful what he does now. “I will still be making films, but not as an actor because I am representing people’s interest. I have to be very careful about what I do now,” he said.
Desmond made this known in a telephone chat with HVP adding that, he is looking forward to a successful tenure as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
“I look forward to a successful tenure, providing social amenities the best way I can for my constituency: representing them well in the house and making sure that Nollywood which is also my constituency thrives as far as Lagos State is concerned”, he said.
He also expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election, saying “I feel I’m a representation of the youth, a generation that wants the change we are clamouring for. It’s something I’ve been begging Him (God) for a long time and now the opportunity has come. So, with God’s help and hard work, we will succeed”, he said.
He said, he prays that God would give him the strength to withstand the pressure when it comes, “because I know it’s not going to be an easy task.
Elliot emerged winner of Lagos State House of Assembly election and will be representing Surulere Constituency 1. He contested for the Lagos State House Of Assembly under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He is the only person in showbiz known to have successfully won any office contested for in Nigeria’s 2015 general elections.
