NPP is giving John Mahama free publicity – Lydia Forson

Actress, Lydia Forson, says the New Patriotic Party does not understand Public Relations as the party is giving the largest opposition leader, John Dramani Mahama, free publicity.

According to the activist, one of the things the NPP has done since assuming office six years ago is to make John Mahama more popular.

The actress claims that the incumbent government’s comprehension of Public Relations is suspicious. As such she thinks they require some education on the subject because she sometimes think the consistent use of the name John Mahama makes it feel like the former President is still the one in office.

“Every day, 'But Mahama' 'If it were Mahama'. 'Even Mahama'. If I didn’t know any better I would think Mahama is still in power. NPP doesn’t seem to understand how PR works because all they’re doing is giving this man free publicity. smh. Mahama is not in power oooo”

Her comments come on the back of the recent backlash by many Ghanaians who have expressed concerns about the government’s decision to declassify portions of the Achimota forest for “redevelopment.”

The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, indicated on May 17, that the former President gave executive approval for the conversion of the Achimota Forest Reserve into an Ecotourism Park, and to release the peripheral portions of the Forest Reserve to the Owoo Family.

According to him, the Forestry Commission, acting on behalf of Mahama, three (3) leases executed in September 2013, granted portions of the Forest Reserve to the Owoo Family for a term of ninety-nine (99) years.

Prior to his comments the Ministry of Information had also detailed the decisions of the Mahama administration regarding this issue.
