Becca opens up about her split with Kiki Banson

The “African woman” singer opened up when she spoke with Graphic Showbiz at the +233 Bar and Grill last Friday after giving the media an opportunity to have a first listen to her latest work, Love & Friend, collaboration with Trigmatic.

 

Afro-pop artiste, Becca was reported few weeks ago to have split with her manager Kiki Banson after working together for 10years and the singer has finally opened up about the reports confirming that they have indeed gone their separate ways.

She also admitted that life without the influential Banson will not be easy but quickly added that she existed before teaming up with him.The “African woman” singer opened up when she spoke with Graphic Showbiz at the +233 Bar and Grill last Friday after giving the media an opportunity to have a first listen to her latest work, Love & Friend, collaboration with Trigmatic.Becca however, dismissed rumors that the relationship between them had been badly strained, emphasizing that the decision to part company was purely a business one.

She said the fact that they were not working together did not mean Mr. Banson had become an enemy and stressed that she still seeks pieces of advice from him anytime because they separated on a good note.“Kiki and I are still very good friends, we talk and meet anytime we want. We still have a very good relationship. I decided not to renew the contract after it expired because I felt it is time to move on and I have done just that, she said.“I am not the first artiste to part ways with my manager. Good artistes around the world have done same and they have been successful as solo artistes. Michael Jackson, Beyoncé among others did it so I don’t see anything wrong with it”, she added.

Talking about her future plans, Becca said she is planning on releasing a good album by the end of the year and hopes to grab the Best Female Vocal Performance at this year’s Ghana Music Awards.News of the two going their separate ways came as a surprise since it seemed they had something good going.Kiki was the first to confirm the break up to Peacefmonline.com recently, insisting that there was no bad blood between them and that their separation was based on mutual understanding.“Just like all things in the universe including life itself, it has a natural beginning and a natural end”.Kiki also disclosed that they parted ways about three months ago and the singer has since been on her own.
