Prince Dovlo grabs 7 nominations with "Purple" movie

Prince was nominated for the “Cinematography”, “Music (Original Song)”, “Production Design”, “Sound Mixing and Editing”, “Visual Effects”, “Discovery”, and “Best Picture” categories.

Ghana’s most sought after filmmaker and video director, Prince Dovlo, has grabbed 7 nominations at the 2016 edition Ghana Movie Awards. Dovlo got nominated for his first movie titled “Purple”.

The musical film which features Psalm Adjetefio, Deborah Vennesa. Efya, Akwaboah, Trigmatic, Pappy Kojo, Wanlov Kubolor, Samini ,Stonebwoy ,Kwaku Manu and Alaska was premiered at the Silver Cinemas, Accra and Weija in September this year.

Speaking to Pulse.com.gh, the CEO of Seven Street Multimedia said it is gratifying to know there are structures in place that recognises the efforts of creative people.

“It's really gratifying to know there are structures in place that recognise our efforts as creative people. It's almost euphoric to be nominated not just for one category, but several by a long-standing standard such as the Ghana Movie Awards,” Prince Dovlo told Pulse.com.gh

He added, “My being acknowledged along with a few of my cast and crew based on our first output in the movie industry speaks for the competitiveness of the Awards show thus serving as a form of encouragement for new producers/directors as well as aspirants.”
