Producer sues production company for $10m

The film about the late rapper was expected to begin production almost a couple of years ago, but has been met with several delays.

Emmett/Furla Oasis is demanding $10m in damages against Morgan Creek Productions. Both companies are meant to be working together on Tupac Shakur’s Biopic.

According to The Hollywood Reporter this was filed in a lawsuit by Emmett/Furla Oasis against Morgan Creek Productions on Wednesday, October 28, 2015.

Emmett/Furla Oasis’ reason for this demand was that a violation in the agreement signed by both parties. They said Morgan Creek disregarded their contract when they fixed the production program and employed an actor without their consent. Emmett/Furla Oasis’ was brought on board the project in 2013.

The film was expected to begin production almost a couple of years ago, but has been met with several delays. There was a family lawsuit where the rappers mother was sued over rights to his songs. Then in April of this year, the director John Singleton walked out on the project.

According to new reports, production for the film is now expected to begin in December, 2015.
