"Afua's Diary" To Premier In London December 5

Afua’s Diary is a Pixelex Aspect and Bibi Shadbolt production, and will premiere in the UK on the 5th December at the Greenwich Odeon Cinema. This film will be distributed by Talking Drum Entertainment.

Pixelex Aspects Ltd announces the release of their debut feature film Afua’s Diary, starring Ghana’s seasoned actor; Kweku Sintim Misa, better known as KSM. Set in London, Afua’s Diary is inspired by the true story of Alan Freeman who’s previous marriage came to an end when his ex wife divorced him after receiving permanent right to stay in the UK.

The film follows the life of Afua (Cleopatra Wood); a young Ghanaian girl, who meets and falls in love with Alan (Fabio Abraham) just as her student visa runs out. She must decide whether to stay in the UK illegally for the sake of love, or go back to Ghana to her alcoholic father (KSM).

This film is a real labour of love for both the director; Benard Owusu and screen play writer and producer Bibi Owusu Shadbolt, both coming from a community that recognises the plight of the lead character.

Bibi Shadbolt, Screenwriter and Producer for Afua’s Diary said; “I am very exited to be making my debut in British cinema, while highlighting issues faced in the African community. It is with great pleasure that we are announcing the premiere and we believe Afua’s Diary will speak to a diverse audience.”
