Adjetey Anang, Ludwig Kalms, Elaine Attoh and co-stars talk about new movie

My Very Ghanaian Wedding movie will be premiered at the Silverbird Cinemas (Accra Mall and West Hills Mall) on 6th and 7th October at 7 pm and 9 pm respectively for GH¢ 30.

Ahead of the grand premiere,  a press preview was on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at the Accra Mall.

Speaking to the press, producer, and actor, Ludwig Mawuli Kalmz said “This movie has a little surprise as to how the families will cope with the situation and the friends who are involved because falling in love at a friend’s engagement to someone that no one expects and how a Ghanaian family handles it and how the foreigner’s family will also handle it reveals a lot,” he said.

“It is not right for mothers to live their lives through children. Teach your child the values but you don’t have to live your life in your child, the child must also be given the chance to make some decisions on his or her own,” he intimated.

“I was supposed to do a horror movie but that didn’t happen so I decided to do something light to get people introduced to the style of filming and writing and I thought what better to do is a romantic comedy,” he stated.

Screen gem, Adjetey Anang who featured in the film also highlighted the fact that the story addresses a pertinent problem plaguing society.

‘My Very Ghanaian Wedding’ centers on love tradition and culture, and how it determines the fate of a young couple.

The movie features Adjetey Anang, who is obediently engaged to an African woman chosen by his mother (Grace Omaboe) but falls in love with a Caucasian woman.

“This is not something just out of the blue it is very practical especially when it has to do with marriages, in the movie you have an element of a clash of cultures and how we relate to an outsider (foreigner) in our setting. Also, a clash of generations because the old folk thinks their ways are the best and younger ones also think same so how do we find the meeting point of understanding. These are some of the issues the movie raises,” he added.

Other actors in the movie include Vincent McCauley, Elaine Attoh, Ludwig Kalms, Dzifa Glikpoe and others.

The movie will be premiered at the Silverbird Cinemas (Accra Mall and West Hills Mall) on 6th and 7th October at 7 pm and 9 pm respectively for GH¢ 30.
