Speaking at the screening, Dovlo said “Purple” concept started two years ago.

“’Purple’ is a musical film. About two years ago, we wanted to shoot something different—something that people would fall in love with. So we came up with this concept where we would involve more youth than to shoot a romantic movie,” he said.

He added “About the time frame, we had to record every single song in the film and remake the beats. Also, we had to fuse most of the Ghanaian artistes we have. It’s been good so far.”

Psalm Adjetefio who played the role of a father in “Purple” musical, shared his role.

“It’s every parent’s dream to secure the future of his/her daughter before he/she can rest.  But here, I planned that my daughter could go to the university to read law but before I realised, she was ‘singing some things’.

"I got mad at first, but later on I tried to understand her. Maybe she would read law but she’s got another talent,” he said.
