Can you survive the ultimate Tongue Twister? (Episode I)

Pulse TV recorded misspoken sounds and analysed them and found that mistakes could be subtle as well as obvious. Well, we set out on the streets of Accra to ask people to repeat phrases 10 times at a fast lick as many of the participants clammed up. Watch episode one below

 

Forget Peter Piper and his Peck of Pickled Pepper - Pulse TV have come up with what may be the world's most frustrating tongue twister.

Spoken too quickly, certain combinations of sounds appear to make people lose control of their mouths.

Asked to repeat the phrase 10 times at a fast lick, many of the participants clammed up and stopped talking altogether.

At least some of the time, tongue twister mix-ups were not one sound or another, but appeared to be something in between.

Tongue twisters are an exercise: you’ve got to get warmed up if you’re going to perform well later on. So let’s start off with some shorter sentences, and get those speaking muscles moving.

At the very least, you’ll pick up a cool trick to impress your friends. Everyone loves to test themselves with a good tongue twister!
