A TV series based on the 2014 sci-fi feature film "Snowpiercer" is in the works.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Bong Joon-ho’s  2014 film is being scripted by screenwriter Josh Friedman, who co-wrote the forthcoming "Avatar 2."

Bong and Dooho Choi will executive produce alongside Becky Clements, and Tomorrow Studios’ Marty Adelstein, who has purchased rights to the upcoming series from Korea’s CJ Entertainment and Media.

The 2014 feature was an adaptation of Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette’s French graphic novel “Le Transperceneige.”

In a future where a failed global-warming experiment kills off most life on the planet, a class system evolves aboard the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe via a perpetual-motion engine.

The sci-fi feature starred Chris Evans, Jamie Bell, Tilda Swinton among others, and grossed $4.5 million domestically, $86.8 million worldwide, after only two weeks of its release via Video on Demand.
