Movie gets new TV spot, release date [Watch]

Find out the release date for 'The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar,' a continuation of The Lion King tale.

 

There's a TV spot for the upcoming animated primetime movie, which continues the storytelling of Disney's hit 'The Lion King.'

The premiere date for the movie has also been revealed as Sunday, November 22 at 7 p.m. on Disney Channel.

The movie, a continuation  of The Lion King tale, follows Kion, the second-born cub of Simba and Nala, as he assumes the role of leader of the Lion Guard, a team of animals tasked with preserving the Pride Lands.

Rob Lowe will be voicing the famous Simba, while Gabriella Union will voice his lion wife Nala.

The movie is a precursor to 'The Lion Guard' television series, premiering in early 2016 on Disney Channels and Disney Junior channels around the globe.

The upcoming movie also stars Max Charles, Atticus Shaffer and Sarah Hyland among the voice cast, with James Earl Jones and Ernie Sabella reprising their roles from as Mufasa and Pumbaa, respectively.
