He announced the deal with the label – which has worked with stars like Rita Marley, Joseph 'Culture' Hills and Steele Pulse – during a presser at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra on Friday, January 10, 2020.
Ghanaian veteran highlife musician Amandzeba Nat Brew has secured a new recording deal with popular Jamaican-Ghanaian imprint, Jah Mikal Entertainment.
According to him, the deal is a non-disclosure contract but it isn’t something that will jeopardise his career. He said it’s a genuine deal which favours him.
“My dream has always been to make myself and my music available to the entire universe,” he said. “Because music is magical and universal. Under my new management, Jah Mikal Entertainment, a lot of things are going to happen. I’m going to pull everyone along including the media, musicians and everybody who matters in the entertainment industry.”
As part of the new record deal, Amandzeba will release the remix of his international hit single, “Wogbe Jeke”, followed by the 20th-anniversary celebration of the song and then a new studio album.
Addressing the press, he said this year marks exactly 20 years since the release of the song. And to celebrate this, he will release a remix featuring American rapper Michael Morgan on February 28, 2020.
The release of the remix will be followed by a series of activities to mark 20 years existence of the original masterpiece.
“There’s going to be a grand nationwide concert and other activities. Of course, ‘Wogbe Jeke’ has become a national song. Everywhere I go and there’s an anniversary, they play. So, I’m going to do it the way the people want it. This is exactly what’s going to happen.”
He also noted that he will release a new album in August this year. He said initially, the album contained 20 songs but his new management had to cut it down. He also said the album features some top-notch local and international artistes.
