The "Sample You" hitmaker on Wednesday took to Twitter to give credence to Ghana music and its influence on Nigerian sounds.  He tweeted: "Ghana's influence on present day "Naija Sound" cannot be over emphasized!!!"

This angered some Nigerian music lovers thus, they went in for him and heavily trolled him on the micro-blogging site.

Reacting to the incident, Az’d backed Mr Eazi and asserted that he stated the facts. In an exclusive interview with Pulse.com.gh, Az’d said  “First of all, I don’t want people to come after me on Twitter because it will sound like I am in support of his statement. But the facts remain the same. If you listen to most Nigerian club songs including P-Squares ‘Alingo’, you would agree with him (Mr Eazi). There’s nothing wrong with him saying Nigerian music is influenced by Ghanaian music.”

He stressed that Genres like Trap Music wasn’t welcomed when it started but when some mainstream artistes started performing, people accepted.

“When Trap Music started in the United States, people claimed it was a ‘dirty black’ music but artistes like Lil Wayne, Gucci, Migos, 2 Chains, Fetty Wap and others kept on performing and now it’s being adopted by everyone. Everybody is putting in a bit of Trap Music in their albums. So there’s not wrong. Beyonce borrows a bit of African music all the time and there’s nothing wrong.”

He added that people should enjoy the music and stop the attacks.

“It’s music and we are supposed to enjoy. It’s not something worth making insulting comments about. You guys should grow up and stop the attacks.”

Az’d has a brand new video to Premiere on Pulse TV. Stay tuned.
