Performing at events is crucial to every artiste especially the Ghanaian artiste. This is one major channel through which they rake in some income. Meanwhile, artistes need event organizers to put up events so they mount, thrill their fans and make money.

One thing that has become a challenge to event organizers these days is the fees these artiste charge. Artistes such as Sarkodie and Shatta Wale have made headlines with their exorbitant charges to the detriment of the event houses. This attitude by these artistes is really crippling event organizers who are already struggling to make profit or break even, therefore causing most of them to collapse.

Offering a solution to this, C.E.O of Movie Africa, Socrate Sarfo has argued that artistes should reduce their hiring fees in order to keep event organizers in business. According to him, instead of charging huge amounts of money to perform once or twice in a year, it would be prudent to reduce their fees so they can play more gigs in the calender year. He made this statement on the nations biggest showbiz morning show AM Pluzz.

“I still think artistes in Ghana are not wise. How can you charge exhorbitant prices if you want event organizers to also be in business. They should reduce their prices else they are doomed in the future”  Socrate told Sammy Flex in an interview on Pluzz 89.9fm.
