One of Tamale based Dancehall artistes, Fancy Gadam says he has no size in Ghana when it comes to the three regions in Northern Ghana, Graphic.com.gh reports.

“Mention all the A-list artistes in Ghana and trust me no one comes close to my popularity in the North. Not even Sarkodie, Shatta Wale or Stonebwoy can compete with me” he told Showbiz in an interview last week.

According to him, although he is not popular in Accra, he has been able to conquer all the three regions in the North making him the best artiste there.

Real name Ahmed Mujahid Bello, Fancy Gadam who has shared the same stage with Sarkodie, D- Black, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy in Tamale said there can never be a successful event in the North without him.

“All the A-list artistes know that their shows cannot be successful in Tamale or any other town in the North if I am not on bill. Some artistes tried it and their shows seriously flopped.

Asked if he has any local competitor in the North, this is was the answer Fancy Gadam gave "When it comes to the North, no one can match me. I do not even have a competitor in West African not to talk about Ghana.

“Artistes like Davido, Wizkid, Patoranking have all been to the North and the cheers that greeted them did not come anywhere near mine when I mounted the stage”, he added confidently.

Explaining why he is loved so much in the North, Fancy Gadam said “I believe the people of Tamale love their own hence the reason I am so huge over there.

“Also, I believe I have made myself so relevant to the people of the North that they cannot do without me. In fact they love me, love my music and they love how I relate with them and I also love them” he said.

Fancy Gadam is known for songs such as Concrete, Naayi- Koomi, Nawuni- Yiko, Bregya, Champion Boy and Takahi.

He and his team 5 Music have also held successful concerts in the North some of which are Fancy in Dagamgo, Fancy Gadam in Yendi, Fancy Gadam in Bimbila, Fancy Gadam in Bolga, Fancy Gadam in Navrongo, Fancy Gadam in Nyankpala among others.
