MUSIGA Commends Organization On Successful Annual General Meeting

The AGM was held on Saturday December 6 at the Social Advance Centre in Accra and attended by a cross section of musicians from various genres.

Present among others were Nana Tuffour, Kojo Antwi, Prophet Kofi Abraham and Ben Brako. Others included Bessa Simons, Diana Hopeson, Che Wellington and Yao Sarpong.

According to the MUSIGA President Bice Osei Kuffour aka Obour, the holding of AGM was a significant milestone in the progress of GHAMRO. He said although the scheduled elections had to be postponed due to the court injunction brought by some members of GHAMRO, the fact that for the first time in the three year history of GHAMRO an AGM had been held was of tremendous importance. He added that the presentation of the audit report is of crucial significance since it revealed the real state of affairs at GHAMRO.

Obour also applauded the right owners at the meeting for their firm resolutions on the way forward for GHAMRO.

Meanwhile the Union is calling on all its members who are composers but have not registered with GHAMRO to do so. In the same breadth, the Union is also appealing to all stakeholders in the music industry to support the efforts by the Receiver Managers to ensure sanity in the industry.
