How to submit your music for VGMA 2019

Charterhouse Ghana Limited – the organisers of the annual Ghana Music Awards – has released the nominations form for the 2019 edition.

VGMA 2019

This year’s ceremony – which is the 20th edition – will honour hardworking Ghanaian musicians and stakeholders whose contributions and impacts were felt between January 1, 2018, to December 31, 2018.

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards – since its inception in 2000 has grown to become the biggest event on the Ghanaian Entertainment Calendar – designed among other things, to recognise and celebrate the hard work and dedication of the various players in Ghana’s music industry.

For those who are confused about how to go about the nomination process, don’t worry, because we are here to help.

Below is a step-by-step guide to how to file for nomination(s) for this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Pick up a hard copy form or download a soft copy on online.

For new artistes and managers, you can simply pick up a hard copy of the nomination form at the front desk of Charterhouse Productions Limited office at Industrial Area in Accra or pick them up at their partner radio and TV stations.

If you are far from Accra, don’t worry. Just visit www.ghanamusicawards.com, download the nomination form and print out.

Filing for nomination(s)

There are two ways you can file for a nomination. You can file on online and offline. I always prefer offline, because you can make a case against the board with evidence if anything goes wrong in the future because online can’t be 100% accurate.

How to fill the form online

Visit entry.ghanamusicawards.com, and click on either SINGLE SUBMISSION or ALBUM SUBMISSION.

On the single nomination page, enter the artiste name, email, contact, representative name, representative title, song title, producer and sound engineer’s name, category, the name of video director (if any), released date and featured artiste(s). When done, use the upload bottom to upload an MP3 or WAV copy of your song and upload a photo (a photo with high resolution).

Repeat the same process for albums and click submit when done.

You can download a soft copy of the form via entry.ghanamusicawards.com and print it out.

On the hard copy form, you can repeat the same online process. Make sure your handwriting is bold and preferably in upper case. Both singles and albums can go on the same form.

After filling the form, attach your music works and promotional images (high-quality pictures) on a CD or pen drive, or both and submit to the offices of Charterhouse Productions Limited not later than January 31, 2019, when all nominations officially close.

It is advisable to email soft copies of works and images to entry@ghanamusicawards.com.

Artistes, producers and managers should also note that only works released between January 1, 2018 – December 31, 2018, can be entered.
