Rapper's new album 'To Pimp A Butterfly' was released a week early by accident

The album was originally due for release on March 23 but was made available early on iTunes and Spotify.

Kendrick Lamar released his new album 'To Pimp A Butterfly' a week earlier than expected today (March 16), but now it appears the rush-release was actually a mistake. The album was originally due for release on March 23 but was made available early on iTunes and Spotify. Now, however, the CEO of Kendrick Lamar's Top Dawg Entertainment, Anthony Tiffith, tweeted to "personally thank" label Interscope for "fucking up our release". See that tweet below.

"I WOULD LIKE 2 PERSONALLY THANK @Interscope FOR FUCKING UP OUR RELEASE... SOMEBODY GOTS 2 PAY 4 THIS MISTAKE !!!! "

The album is still available via iTunes and Spotify in the UK but, as reports, has been taken down in the US.'To Pimp A Butterfly' is the follow-up to 2012's 'Good Kid, MAAD City'. Lamar's two most recent releases, 'i' and 'The Blacker The Berry', both feature on the album's 16-song tracklisting. The latter was produced by Boi-1da, and references the 2012 killing of African American teenager Trayvon Martin. 'i' won Grammy Awards for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance in February. Speaking in a recent interview about the album, Lamar said the music ranges from "the intensely personal to the swaggeringly aggressive".The 'To Pimp A Butterfly' tracklisting is as follows:'Wesley's Theory''For Free? (Interlude)''King Kunta''Institutionalized''These Walls''U''Alright''For Sale? (Interlude)''Momma''Hood Politics''How Much A Dollar Cost''Complexion''The Blacker The Berry''You Ain't Gotta Lie (Momma Said)''i''Mortal Man'
