New Yaw Tog freestyle stirs social media debate over his accent, authenticity and more

Yaw Tog has dished out a hot freestyle that has sparked a debate on social media.

Yaw Tog

The fast-rising rapper dropped the freestyle last night where he bragged his feats in the rap game just as rappers do, however, the freestyle is receiving a mixed reaction of love and criticisms.

The Kumerican rapper who BET has picked as Artiste of The Month is asking that "who got on Billboard last year and got a mili in three days ... do you got hit songs like me? Stormzy came in for who? And who is that black boy winning?" all which he answered with "Me" in the freestyle.

Whilst others arguably appreciate his lyricism and rapper's braggadocious attitude in the freestyle, some have been concerned about Yaw Tog's accent, with comments that he doesn't sound authentic because he is trying to copy Stormzy.

This conversation has sparked a trending Yaw Tog and Stormzy debate on Twitter as Tweets either defended the 'Sore' rapper or advised him to stick to rapping in Twi to be himself.

The 1:30 minutes freestyle above has gathered over 85,000 views on Twitter with more than over 2000 retweets comments more than 700 15 hours of its release. See the tweets below for what people are saying.
