“I’m not trying to ride on Edem’s fame” – Eduwodzi

“It’s a song that everyone knows so I didn’t go on social media platforms to attack him. I can’t do that; Edem is my brother,” says Eduwodzi.

Ewe singer Eduwodzi has responded to assertions by the public regarding his copyright claim of Edem’s latest hit song titled “Nyedzilo” which features Nigeria’s Reekado Banks. The public has also tagged him as an ‘attention seeker’ who is trying to ride on Edem’s fame to bounce back into the music scene.

The “Yenko Nkoaa” singer in response to the criticisms told Pulse.com.gh that he is not trying to ride on Edem’s fame to bounce back; rather, he wants to set the record straight and make known to the public that he first released the track.

“’Nyedzilo’ is a song everyone know I recorded and released in 2010 with “Yenko Nkoaa” so I didn’t go on social media to attack my brother (Edem). If I do that, it means I’m trying to challenge my brother, which is impossible. I can’t do that. I don’t see Edem as a friend; I see him as a brother,” he opined.

“It’s the media which raised the alarm about ‘Nyedzilo’ because they know I first released the track. The track also became popular because I performed on several platforms including Sarkodie’s ‘Rapperholic Concert’ and ‘TV3 Music Music’ show.

“It’s a song that everyone knows so I didn’t go on social media platforms to attack him. I can’t do that; Edem is my brother,”  Eduwodzi concluded.

Eduwodzi has been in the news lately for accusing Edem of ‘stealing’ his track titled “Nyedzilo”. The singer claims he released the track featuring Davio alongside his hit single “Yenko Nkoaa” which features Stay Jay but couldn't hit due to poor promotional plan.
