Filmmaker Socrates Sarfo has disclosed to Pulse.com.gh that, Shatta Wale’s 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards nomination entry has been accepted by Chatterhouse despite a legal battle with the annual awards organisers.

Shatta Wale, today (January 13, 2016) was accompanied by Socrates Sarfo and some members of his management team to submit his nomination forms for the 17th edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Music Awards.

After successfully filing the nomination entry, Socrates told Pulse.com.gh that “Shatta Wale’s forms submission went well. It was accepted.”

Touching on Shatta Wale’s reactions should he be denied of nomination(s), Socrates stated “It’s not compulsory that he (Shatta Wale) is nominated. He just submitted his songs and it’s up to the (Vodafone Ghana Music Awards) board to decide.”

The Dancehall artiste, some years ago cautioned organisers of the annual Ghana Music Awards not to nominate him after they hauled him to court on charges of defamation.

Shatta in a series of videos accused Charterhouse of being corrupt, insulted the company and further warned them to stop denying musicians from other regions of Ghana the needed recognition; a case which is yet to be settled by the court.

Whether he will be nominated for this year's ceremony or not, we leave that to Chatterhouse Ghana Limted.
