Sarkodie, 4x4, VVIP, Kwabena Kwabena, AJ Nelson, Yaa Pono, Kaakie, Stonebwoy And Others Perform At Saminifest Concert

The finale of 2014 MTN Saminifest was held on Saturday, December 6 at the Trade Fair Centre, Labadi, Accra.

The inaugural edition of Saminifest, an annual four-day event saw over one thousand fans filling the Trade Fair Centre last Saturday to witness the climax of the event. The festival which opened with a number of activities including music seminars, food and culture exhibition seeks to bring together music lovers, particularly Samini fans was to mark his 10th anniversary in the Ghanaian music industry. MC Kay, Abeiku Santana and comedian DKB hosted the show.

Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy raised the curtain earlier than the scheduled time because he was booked to perform in Takoradi on the same night, Pulse.com.gh can confirm. He performed almost 10 popular songs which include “Bhim Nation”, “More Gyal”, “Give It To Them (kwanaamu)”,” Pull Up” and finally ended with one of the most played songs of the year “Baafira” which features Sarkodie.  He set the tone for a series of exciting performances including the likes I Jude, Brenya, Scata Bada, Agbeshie, Koo Ntakra, Busta Rap, and AJ Nelson.

Ace gospel singer Noble Nketsia  hit the stage with an exciting live band performance which paved the way for more exciting performances from established acts such as AndyAK Songstress, Akoo Nana (who almost created another controversy on stage by trying to remove his trouser) , Kofi Kinaata, VVIP, Yaa Pono, Tinny,4x4 and Kaakie.

Samini, the man of the moment begun his performance with his popular single “Slow Motion”. He performed more than 26 songs in total, both old and new tracks including the event theme song "Godfull" amidst nonstop fireworks. He performed his collaborations with Kwabena Kwabena, Kokovelli and Sarkodie. Samini performed  for over 5 hours uninterrupted. Sarkodie performed several of his songs including “Original”, “Pizza & Burger”,  “Illuminati”, “M3gye Wo Girl”,  “Adonai” and “Dancehall Commando”.

The #FreeKwawKese campaign was intensified as every act that came on stage tried to urge the patrons to support the cause. In all, more than 28 artistes came to support Samini’s Saminifest with outstanding performances from each artiste.
