The ceremony held at the Best Western Plus Hotel on Saturday, May 11, saw the “Fakye” singer walk home with the “Best Female Vocalist of the Year” accolade.

She beat off stiff competition from rising female stars; Ayma, Esy, Euyu, Abna and Mrs Susie Arthur, to scoop the prestigious award.

“I was emotional and ecstatic. I was not excepting it at all and moreover my category was tough,” Shola Baybe admitted after being announced the winner of the female category. “All the same, I won and I'm so happy, and all praise to God.”

According to the SilverLine Records signee, her loyal fans played a vital role in her win and promised to deliver another hit single.
