Sarkodie in an interview with Sirius XM’s HipHop Nation host Renada Romain has addressed Ghana’s reaction towards his new track "New Guy" featuring America’s Ace Hood, saying he is built for the hate that comes along with his new status.

“At this stage in my life I don’t see hate anymore, I just see people expecting too much and so when the record came out, I was expecting that,” he told Renada.

He added: “I think it’s more of status anywhere you are, when you continue to win over and over again, now the question is when is he going to fall? Now every move they are a bit skeptical about it, is it going to go well like how he’s always been doing it… ”.

Sarkodie also pointed out the hypocrisy in the arguments that projected his career when he first started off on the Ghanaian music scene and the arguments that are being made currently.

“The conversation was there is no way I could rap in my native tongue and have a collaboration with an American artiste. That was the conversation some years back and this happened. And now they are saying the record is not good,” he concluded.
