Google Celebrates Ghana With A Doodle

The doodle features the iconic Google logo overlaid with red, gold and green colored fireworks.

Celebrating the 58th Independence of Ghana, Google has posted a doodle on the Ghanaian homepage. The doodle features the iconic Google logo overlaid with red, gold and green colored fireworks.

The color of the fireworks are taken from the flag of Ghana, which consists of Red, Gold and Green horizontal strips with a five pointed black star in the centre of the gold stripe.

The color red represents the blood of those who died in the country’s struggle for independence: gold stands for the minerals wealth, while green symbolizes the rich forest and vegetation. The star represents the lone star of African freedom.

This is not the most creative of Google Doodles commemorating the Independence Day celebrations in Ghana, but it is the first interactive one since Google started honouring Ghana on it's 'homepage'.
