76-year-old woman allegedly raped to death

The deceased identified as Maame Ama Menka was reportedly found lying in a pool of blood on her farm in Dwomo, a farming community near Bechem on Friday.

Police of Bechem in the Tano South Municipality of the Brong Ahafo Region are reportedly holding a 48-year-old man, Kwame Nsowaa for allegedly having sex with a 76-year-old woman, leading to her death.

The deceased identified as Maame Ama Menka was reportedly found lying in a pool of blood on her farm in Dwomo, a farming community near Bechem on Friday.

Adomonline.com reported a witness as having told a local reporter, Barimaba Yussif Abubakar that the old woman’s cloth was found ripped off, with some cuts around her neck.

It is not clear how Kwame Nsowaa was linked to the murder of the deceased, but some residents reportedly said they suspected him to have a hand in the bloody death.

Meanwhile, District Police Officer for Bechem Supt. Abraham Bansah is reported as saying his outfit is investigating the incident to unravel the actual cause of the poor woman’s death and bring the perpetrators to book, if there is any.
