Midwife recreates foetal position with babies shortly after birth [Photos]

The mix of colour and black and white photos show babies still in the foetal position in the hands of midwives and their parents.

A midwife has taken to photography, capturing beautiful images of babies just seconds after being born.

The tiny babies look adorable curled up with their noses touching their toes.

Marry Fermont, 35, from the Netherlands, told how she documented the first moments of babies' lives.

She said: "Many midwifes show women how their baby was positioned in the womb."
