While some students are hoping to get accepted into any institution, Alexander, who had a 5.1 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, was bombarded with acceptance letters, Daily Mail reports.

Her scholarships totalled over $3 million.

"It was a lot to take in. I received letters bombarding me with info," she said.

She said at least six of her acceptance letters are from Ivy League schools but she decided to attend the University of Pennsylvania with the help of her teacher, Paul Brush, who advised her that the university offered students the world-renowned Wharton School of Business.

Arianna's father, Pierre Alexander, said he advised his daughter to apply for the scholarships after a student was offered $1 million scholarships some years back.

"I planted the seed in Arianna's mind that you can do the same thing," he said.

"So when the process got started and a million was achieved, let's go for two. I said let's go for three and she did it."

With three older siblings who are graduates, the talented says she is relieved that funding will not be an issue.

"I feel like it means I can afford college and I don't have to worry about it," she said.

"I feel like that's an issue for a lot of people my age"

Alexander says she hoped to own four restaurants after graduation.
