A 30-year-old man was arrested while trying to smuggle cannabis to Dubai through a luggage belonging to a headmistress.

Nnadi Chibueze was arrested while trying to smuggle cannabis to Dubai in a luggage belonging to a headmistress.
Nnadi Chibueze’s attempt was botched by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport.
Cannabis weighing 130 grammes and hidden inside local alcoholic beverage known as Alomo Bitters was detected inside the luggage of the woman.
According to NDLEA Commander at the Airport, Mr. Hamza Umar, the suspect has confessed his role in the drug smuggling attempt in his statement.
“As soon as the drug was detected, we conducted a follow-up raid operation that led to the arrest of the main suspect, Nnadi Chibueze. He has owned up to the crime and the case is being investigated for subsequent prosecution,” Mr. Hamza Umar said.
Nnadi Chibueze confessed that he personally concealed the cannabis inside one of the bottles of Alomo bitters.
He revealed that the original plan was to send the drug to his brother in Dubai through a friend, but the consignment was given to the headmistress in error.
“When I was told that the goods were given to the headmistress, I was greatly disturbed. It was a great mistake that she was given the consignment that contained the drug,” the suspect revealed.
All arrangements has been made for the Imo State indigene to face criminal prosecution.
