Briefing The Ghanaian Times on Monday, Assistant Superintendent (ASP) Isaac A.A. Ahor, in-charge of DOVVSU, said the incident took place at about 7pm at the woman’s drinking spot near the Royal Hospital, Ho.

According to him, the two have been in a relationship for the past two-and a half years, but did not live together, with the man often visiting the woman at weekends.

On March 8, the man visited Kafui at the spot and she demanded GHC100 from him, which he did not give her.

A misunderstanding ensued and Kafui slapped the man thrice, before she was restrained her.

Kafui admitted to the offence in her caution statement to the police.

ASP Ahor disclosed that Kafui has been charged with assault and offensive conduct, and would appear before the Ho Magistrate Court tomorrow.

Meanwhile, ASP Ahor has called on men who suffer violence at the hands of their wives or girlfriend to report them to the DOVVSU.

“We have found out that a large number of cases of domestic violence against men go unreported because they find it humiliating,” he lamented.
