Ahmed Jimoh, a 27-year-old man, will be ruing his misfortune after he was remanded by an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court for allegedly beating his girlfriend, Omoyeni Oluga, 18, to death during a minor misunderstanding.

A man has been arrested for beating his girlfriend to death over a minor disagreement.

The incident happened at Oke-Itoku in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Augustine Ozimini, told the court that the accused and the deceased had a disagreement at his residence on February 3, 2015, and in the fight that followed the argument, Jimoh proceeded to beat Oluga to death.
"The accused and his girlfriend had a disagreement at the accused’s residence that led to a fight, which eventually caused the death of the girl."

However, the plea of the accused was not taken by the court presided by Magistrate Emmanuel Adekunte, who ordered that Jimoh should be remanded in Ibara Prison, while the case was adjourned till May 5, 2015, for further hearing.
