An American man, David Wise, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for a very unwise act of drugging his wife, raping her in her sleep and recording the sordid act on video, reports Daily Mail.

An American has been jailed for 20 years for allegedly drugging his wife, raping her and recording the act on his phone.

The 52-year-old Wise of Indianapolis, who had been married to Mandy Boardman for 12 years, repeatedly carried out the act over the years and was arrested on a charge of rape after drugging his wife and raping her in her sleep, police in Indiana said.
Before his sentencing, he had earlier been ordered to spend eight years of home confinement but after two months, Wise violated the terms of his sentence and was ordered to serve 5 years in prison.
Boardman described the beginning of her relationship with Wise as a 'whirlwind romance,' and for the first few years that they were married, they were quite happy, until he began slipping her drugs and forcing sex on her while she was passed out and for years, did not know what her husband was doing to her.

The reality dawned on her when she found video clips of the assaults on his phone and reported the matter to authorities.
