The woman resorted to Facebook to claim that Forson who was elected the Ghana Bar Association president in September last year, had raped her in the US in December 2012.
Ghana Bar Association President denies raping lawyer Kuukuwa Andam
President of the Ghana Bar Association, Anthony Forson jnr has vehemently denied having raped a woman by name, Kuukuwa Andam as she has alleged.
In a long written post on the social media platform titled, “How I was raped by Anthony Forson Jnr. (Ghana Bar Association President) & have filed a criminal complaint against him in Washington DC”, the woman who herself is a lawyer said the GBA boss abused her against her will.
However, in a statement released by lawyers for Anthony Forson, Beyuo & Co, he denied the allegation flatly, saying it was a palpable falsehood orchestrated to soil his hard-earned reputation.
Excerpts of the statement read: “Our client Anthony Forson Jnr's attention has been drawn to a post on one Miss Kuukuwa Andam's Facebook page that he committed an offence of rape against her sometime in 2012.
“Mr. Forson sincerely and emphatically denies that he has committed any such offence against the said Miss Kuukuwa Andam.
“He maintains that the allegations are palpably false and in due course he will be vindicated.
“Mr. Forson will like to thank all those who have by various means shown concern and support for him and his family during this trying period.”
The GBA president is confident that he will be vindicated in due course.
