Teenager unexpectedly gives birth to baby in toilet

“I never thought I would be having a baby at 17, but my first instinct was to get him out of the toilet and wrap him up to keep him warm,” Pettigrew said.

Braeley Pettigrew, told WDJT she had no idea she was pregnant.

According the police statement, Braeley said “she thought she was having a bowel movement, but when she looked down, a baby was in the toilet. She became scared, cut the umbilical cord and wrapped the baby up”.

Pettigrew added she told her mom someone left the baby on the porch because she was afraid her mother will be upset, but when her mom noticed blood on the teen’s clothes, she called police.

The Braeley and her baby were rushed to the hospital where the child is in the NIC-U. Both mom and baby are doing well.

According to police, Pettigrew doesn’t face any charges. After deciding to keep him, she named the baby Kayden.Pettigrew said she plans to finish high school and attend college.
