The mirror reported that authorities had had a complaint about the missing car two weeks earlier from the Ferrari & Maserati of Newport Beach service center in Costa Mesa after a worker left the key on a passenger seat.

When the car was impounded, police officers found cracked fins, a destroyed gearbox, emblems torn from the engine and body and missing paddle shifters in it.

Reports further indicate that the suspect bolted as he saw the police offers, but was later arrested in a bush following a hot chase.

Israel Perez has pleaded not guilty to 3 felony charges of vehicle theft with a prior felony conviction of driving or taking a vehicle, grand theft auto with a prior conviction, and vandalism, according to the mirror.co.uk.

It is also reported that the suspect sentence may be aggravated on allegations of theft over $200,000, according to Orange County Superior Court records.

However, the owner of the stolen car appeared to have lost nothing, as he has already claimed an insurance and bought 2018 Lamborghini Huracan.
