Young man shoots couple over failed relationship

A young man who could not take the pain of being jilted by his lover, has killed the lady and her new man on their wedding day.

A young man who felt hurt at being dumped by his girlfriend for another man has thrown the sleepy Ukala community in Delta State into mourning and confusion when he stormed the venue of a wedding involving the lady and her new man, shooting the couple and other people in a random spree.

The jilted lover was angry that the lady had the guts to dump him and went ahead to get married to another man and while the wedding was in full swing, he made his presence felt when he shot indiscriminately at people who were gathered to celebrate the marriage after he had succeeded in killing his ex-girlfriend and her new husband.

Going by reports, the late lady whose name was given as Stephany, a graduate of Office and Management Technology from one of the polytechnics in the state, had dated the young man named Teddy, for eight years but when she saw that the relationship was heading no where as Teddy had not shown any signs of settling down and as time was running out for her, she gave him an ultimatum to either do the right thing or she was going to walk out of the relationship.

Jolted into action, Teddy started planning for the marriage and had even done the introduction when somewhere along the line, the lady's mother was introduced to a United Kingdom based business man who had come into the country in search of a wife and she lured her daughter into marrying the man.

Before Teddy knew what was happening, a date had been fixed for the marriage between his girlfriend and the UK based man and not able to take such betrayal, he waited for the wedding day and stormed the venue while the bride and groom were having their first dance and shot them dead.

Not done, he turned his gun on others including the bride's mother who was also killed in the shooting spree. After that, Teddy reportedly fled the area and has not been seen since.
