An elderly man was Monday, January 19 dawn burnt to death in a lotto kiosk which also serves as his place of abode at Old Tulaku, a suburb of Ashaiman
The deceased identified as Kwaku Kwatey, aged 55 lived in the structure alone.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred at about 3 am but could not tell the cause of fire.
Mr Karim Issah, a resident in the area said he saw the lotto kiosk up in flames while others tried to extinguish the fire with water but to no avail.
He said The Ghana National Fire Service was called in to deal with the fire but it was detected that the man had died.
The remains of the deceased have since been conveyed to the Police Hospital for autopsy while personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ashiaman Divisional Police Command have begun investigations into the accident.
