The Berekum circuit court presided over by Mr J.Y. Asebey convicted the accuse who pleaded guilty to the charges against him and was sentence accordingly by the court.

38 Year Old Jailed For Defiling 6 Year Old Girl
A 38 years old man, Obah Kwame Evans has been sentence to 12 years imprisonment for defiling a six year old girl at Sampa in the Brong Ahafo Region.

In an interview with Ghana News Agency Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Christopher Tawiah said on December 31, Evans invited the victim who was playing with her friend at a nearby house to assist him do his laundry.
He said the six-year old girl and her friend joined Evans in his house to wash and Evans, after some minutes, invited the victim to his room and forcibly had sexual intercourse withher.The girl, who could not bear the pain, screamed loudly for help which attracted the attention of a neighbour passing behind Evans room who went to her rescue. The case was reported to the Berekum Police and a medical report was issued based on which Evans was arrested and charged with the offence.
