105-yr-old woman burnt alive

A 105-year-old woman met her untimely death when fire gutted her 8-bedroom apartment.

A 105-year old woman, AkuaAddai lost her life after her family's 8-bedroom apartment was consumed by fire at Kronum in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

It is not clear what caused the fire but the Landlord, however, blamed the unfortunate situation on the power outage.

The landlord said, the fire started immediately power was restored in the area.

The roof of the room where the blind bed-ridden old lady was confined, caved in, according to eyewitnesses, thus frustrating rescue efforts to get Akua Addai to safety.

Fire service personnel are yet to conduct investigations to ascertain the cause of the fire.
