The Wa High Court has sentenced, one Andrew Bayor Yuoni, to death by hanging for murdering a 43-year-old farmer, Jonas Kwame Yeleliere at Daffiama in the Upper West region.
The verdict was given after a seven-member jury found the suspect guilty of murder as charged, JoyNews reports.
According to reports, Yuoni saw the deceased cutting down branches of a mango tree on a disputed land which he confrontated Yeleliene
The confrontation was said to have turned into a fight.
Yuoni was said to have butchered Jonas with a cutlass, who died instantly.
After thorough investigations, it emerged that Yuoni committed the gruesome murder claiming the deceased was the first to attack him.
The court presided over by Justice Kwasi Boakye sentenced him to death by hanging.
