A retired Colonel with the Nigerian Army identified as Mohammed Mshelia, has reportedly slumped and died in his bathroom in his house at the Pipeline area of Kubwa, a satellite town of Abuja, the Federal Capital territory.

The 54-year-old ex-army officer who was said to be hypertensive, slipped in the bathroom and hit his head on the tiled floor on Tuesday, October 13, while he was taking his bath.

A family source told newsmen that the wife had already left for work on the fateful day when the Colonel went to the bathroom for his bath.

“It was his daughter’s call to inform him about her successful graduation from medical school that gave the hint that all was not well. The father’s phone kept ringing without any response.

The daughter then called the mother who hurriedly rushed back home. It took the wife some time before she finally located the body of the husband s on the floor of the bathroom, having searched the entire building without any success,” the family source.

The woman raised an alarm which alerted neighbours who assisted her in taking the body to the hospital where he was certified dead.
