Emma Egan, 30, collapsed at the home she shared with her fiancé Kerr Brooks in Overtown, Lanarkshire, on Thursday.

She had just returned from her hen party in Ibiza and had been due to marry her partner of 10 years in a ceremony on June 6.

According to Daily Mail, Mr. Brooks was away working when his fiancée returned from the week-long holiday and asked Miss Egan's brother to check on his partner after he couldn't get hold of her by phone.

Miss Egan's father Donald told how his son 'smashed the door in' at Miss Egan's property after she failed to answer when he called round.

He told the Daily Record: 'That's when he found her. It's terrible.

'She had been complaining of palpitations before and it looks as if she had a massive heart attack.

'Kerr is just devastated. We were planning a wedding, now we're planning a funeral.'

Miss Egan, an accountant at Muller Wiseman Dairies, had just returned from a seven-day trip to Ibiza, where she celebrated her hen do with friends.

One family friend described her as 'so full of life' and said she had the 'world at her feet'.

Others took to social media to pay their respects to the 'beautiful' bride-to-be who was in the midst of putting the final plans in place for her big day.

One friend, Lisa Malinowski McCollough, said: 'My heart is heavy for Emma Egan's family and dearest friends at this sad time.

'Love to all of you. What a joy she was to be around, and I feel blessed to have known her for just a fraction of a moment.'

Another, believed to be a close family member, Casey Agnew, said: 'Our family got the most heart breaking news yesterday, it still doesn't feel real.

'17 days before the big day we lost our beautiful bride to be. Life is unfair in so many ways it doesn't make sense at all.

'You were everyone's favourite smile, beautiful inside and out. Taken from us far too soon Emma Egan you were one in a million wherever you are now, keep shining like you did here. Love you'

Friend Briony Weir added: 'So so heartbreaking hearing tragic news about someone so beautiful and so young! Thinking of all of Emma Egans family! Such a lovely lovely person.'
