Amy from Glasgow, spent weeks in a coma after taking a single MDMA pill in June last year.

As she battles the devastating physical effects she suffered after taking the drug, she has now told her family her goal is to get out of her wheelchair.

The Scottish Daily Record reports she has now managed her first few painful steps with help from her medical team.

A New Year post on her online support page said: “Amy still in her chair but walked 30 yards before the holidays.

“A machine supports her upper body while her legs walk the walk.

“She said it feels like having her heart ripped out as it’s so painful but she will keep working hard as walking is her main goal.”

The support page, maintained by her mum Tricia and other family and friends, also revealed Amy’s hopes for this year.

It said: “Amy is well and enjoying the extended break from rehab 2015 is behind us now and it’s taught us a lot.”
