Natives of Sogakope claim to have captured a dwarf god

A town in the Volta Region, Sogakope, was thrown into a frenzy after some group of young men claimed they had arrested a "dwarf god".

The incident was captured by a Facebook user named Icon Joseph. His photos and videos showed the young men parading someone they claimed to be a "dwarf god" around the streets of Sogakope.

But, a closer examination of the photos and video shows that the said "dwarf god" could have just been a midget who was completely lost and needed medical attention.

This did not, however, stop the locals from trooping to catch a glimpse of their supposed dwarf.

Their move probably stems from the belief in Ghana that dwarfs (known as mmoetia in Akan) are considered "spiritual" beings and are often worshiped by some people.
