Woman Uses Her Own Placenta For Smoothies

New mother has discover a new ingredient for smoothies. She says adding placenta to your smoothies is very healthy and its taste the same usual smoothie.

This new mum has an unusual final ingredient for a fruit smoothie, a healthy portion of her own placenta.

The clip, part of a TV documentary, shows Kati whipping up a healthy drink of mixed and sour berries, banana and coconut milk.

And then she added the most important ingredient her own placenta.

She blends it all together and pours the strange pink concoction into a tall glass before taking a sip.

After downing the drink, she gives viewers a review, saying: "Do you know what? It just looks and tastes exactly the same as a normal smoothie."

Kati says it's all to do with boosting her health after the birth of her new baby.

She said: ‘It’s just to replenish my body of the nutrients it’s lost.

"I thought it was a bit weird when I first heard about it but when I started reading up about why you might do it it became much more normal.’

Kati was one of four new mums on BBC One's 'Childbirth: All Or Nothing' on Tuesday night, which also included Lisa, who wanted a 'lotus birth', which involves keeping the baby attached to the umbilical cord until if falls off naturally.

He said: "People do think it’s weird and it’s certainly very uncommon.

"But chimpanzees lotus birth and we’re very closely related to them. By not cutting the cord I think my baby will remain calmer post birth."

Also featured were Jo, who aimed to give birth on her houseboat, and Anna, who underwent an elective Caesarean at a private hospital.
